Maptelier uses open map data, fonts and icons. Their licences remain applicable to the relevant parts of your exports.
OpenStreetMap
Map data includes © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Read OpenStreetMap’s copyright and licence information.
Keep the OpenStreetMap credit visible when using or sharing an export. In a digital work, include an accessible link to the copyright page. For a printed work, include the address www.openstreetmap.org/copyright with the attribution. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation attribution guidelines.
Permission to use a finished image or video does not remove separate licence obligations if you extract or redistribute a database.
Map tiles and place data
The current basemap uses OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles. Exports carry the OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap credits. Keep those credits with the work.
Place search also uses an index derived from Overture Maps. Overture releases identify their sources and applicable licences. Those terms apply to relevant source data.
Terrain uses AWS Terrain Tiles. Terrain exports carry a terrain credit. The dataset’s source attribution and licence requirements apply where relevant.
Satellite imagery
A Map on the satellite base draws EOxCloudless 2016, a cloud-free mosaic of Sentinel-2 imagery. Its full credit is: EOxCloudless https://cloudless.eox.at by EOX IT Services GmbH (Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data 2016), released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence. Exports in this style carry a shorter imagery credit that names EOX, Copernicus Sentinel 2016 and the licence. Keep it with the work.
Icons and fonts
Icon collections have their own authors and licences. Read the bundled icon notices for each collection’s source, licence and attribution. Keep any icon-specific credit provided with your export, including credits required by Creative Commons collections.
Fonts also retain their original licences. Maptelier’s bundled font packages include their licence notices. Using a font in an exported image does not transfer ownership of the font software. Redistributing a font file is subject to its licence.
Your work
You keep the rights you hold in your photos and other original content. You may use finished Maptelier exports for personal and commercial work under the Terms of use and the relevant third-party licences.
Free exports include the Made with Maptelier mark. Unlocking a Map removes that mark. Data and asset credits still remain.
