These terms cover the Maptelier website, editor and digital exports. Our Privacy notice explains how we handle personal data. Purchases also have the Refund policy and Lemon Squeezy buyer terms.
Using Maptelier
Maptelier lets you make Maps and export them as images or video. A Map is your saved project. You can use the editor without an account. Optional email sign-in saves Maps to your account.
Use an email address you control. Keep sign-in codes, links and private download links secure. You must have the legal capacity to accept these terms or use the service with an authorised parent or guardian.
Browser support, device resources and the selected format affect exports. The editor shows the options available for your Map. Map data can be incomplete or out of date. Maptelier is intended for visual work. Do not rely on it for navigation, emergencies or safety decisions.
Unlocks and payment
Unlocking a Map is a one-time purchase for that Map. The editor shows the price before you pay. An unlock enables the paid export options shown in the editor and removes the Made with Maptelier mark. It does not unlock other Maps, and there is no subscription.
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for purchases. It handles checkout, payment, applicable taxes and receipts. The checkout shows the final amount, with any taxes, before you pay. We do not receive your full card details.
Maptelier supplies digital files. Printing and physical delivery are not included.
Discounts and referrals
We sometimes offer discounts, such as money off a first Map or through a friend’s referral link. The editor shows an offer and its amount before you pay. Signing in and joining the mailing list lead to the same first-Map offer, so they don’t add up. One offer applies per checkout, and each code works once.
A friend’s purchase through your referral link can earn you a free Map once their 14-day refund window has passed, up to a yearly limit. A refund before then cancels the reward.
We check eligibility when a code is used, and may refuse rewards obtained through fraud or deliberate manipulation. Changing an offer does not change a purchase already made or remove your consumer rights.
Your content and exports
You keep the rights you hold in your uploaded photos, text and other content. Only use content you have permission to use. Take care with another person’s location, image or private information.
You give us permission to store, process and transmit your content as needed to provide the features you choose, such as account saving and server exports. This permission does not allow us to use your private Maps in our advertising or to train AI models.
You may use your finished exports for personal and commercial work, including prints, publications, videos and client work. The OpenStreetMap attribution and any other required data or asset credits must remain. An unlock removes the Made with Maptelier mark, but required third-party credits still apply. See Credits and licences.
Our permission to use finished exports does not transfer ownership of third-party data, icons or fonts. Their original licences apply. It does not grant a separate right to redistribute Maptelier’s software or style assets.
Saving and downloads
Signed-out Maps are stored in the browser. Clearing browser data can remove them. Signing in uploads the Maps saved in that browser to your account. Keep a downloaded Map project file as a backup of work you need to retain.
Signing out uploads changes and then removes the account’s Maps from that browser. Deleting an account removes its cloud-saved Maps. Local copies in the browser remain. See the Privacy notice for records that are handled separately.
Server exports require an unlocked Map and your approval to upload it. They receive the full Map document, including saved thumbnails and data hidden from the layout. Private download links and server files are available for seven days after the request was submitted. Anyone with a valid private link can access its files. Download files you want to keep before the link expires.
Server capacity and technical limits apply. The current limit is 20 requested formats per Map per UTC day. If a job fails, contact us with the Map or order details. Do not include a private download link in a public post.
Acceptable use
Do not use Maptelier to violate another person’s privacy or intellectual property rights, publish unlawful content, or facilitate harm. Do not attempt unauthorised access, disrupt the service, evade usage limits or manipulate payments and rewards.
We may restrict access where reasonably needed to address these issues or protect the service. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a way to resolve it. Contact us if you believe a restriction was made in error. Restrictions do not remove your statutory rights.
Refunds and problems
You can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, including after exporting a file. Email contact@maptelier.com with the purchase email and order number. Read the Refund policy for details.
A refund removes the Map’s paid unlock. It does not erase files already downloaded or automatically delete the Map itself.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to provide the service with reasonable care. We may need to interrupt it for maintenance, security or a technical failure. We cannot promise uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every device or application.
We are responsible for failures to the extent required by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, or limits your mandatory consumer rights. If a paid feature cannot be provided, contact us so we can address the problem or an appropriate refund.
Changes and applicable law
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date above identifies the version. We will give reasonable notice of material changes through the website or email when appropriate. Changes will not retroactively reduce rights attached to a completed purchase.
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, subject to the mandatory protections and court rights available to you where you live. This clause does not require you to give up those protections or bring a consumer claim exclusively in another country.
